The events industry has long been one of the most female-led sectors in professional services; and the trend is accelerating. More than 80% of the events workforce is comprised of women, and the number of women leading event management companies has risen to 40% in recent years. Progress is happening, and it is worth celebrating.
In recognition of International Women's Day, we want to shine a light on some of the women who have shaped the industry and continue to inspire those coming up behind them.
Three women making their mark
Helen Moon; CEO, EventWell Ltd. EventWell is an organisation dedicated to mental health and wellbeing in the events industry. Helen's work to champion better mental health for event professionals; through wellbeing programmes, training and advocacy; fills a genuine gap in how the sector cares for its own people.
Jeannie Power; Event Planner & Technologist. With 20 years of experience, Jeannie has built a unique practice at the intersection of event planning and cutting-edge technology. She specialises in creating personalised, gamified attendee experiences; bridging the gap between what event planners want to achieve and what technology makes possible.
Kate Bullard; Co-Founder, Eventprofslive. Kate champions sustainability and community within the corporate events world. A recognised expert in B2B events, she was named one of C&IT's top 20 event planners in 2021 and continues to push eco-friendly practice to the front of the conversation.
Closer to home
As a women-owned business, World Wide Group takes great pride in a team where women play a fundamental role at every level; from production and creative to strategy and client relationships. We are fortunate to be led by a Managing Director who brings the same commitment to excellence and equity that defines the best of our industry.
